A NEW WAY TO PLAY

In spring 2017, MyMiniFactory.com partnered with Autodesk to host a "Scan the World" competition.  The prompt was fairly simple; scan an object you use for a hobby (using Autodesk Remake) and then design 3D printable invention to improve your tool.

I scanned my guitar and created this phone mount.

The design was heavily inspired by the way people (or at least I) learn to play guitar in 2017.  I watch Youtube videos and play along to an app, which requires the phone to be close by and easy to interact with.

I found that working with the PC or watching the phone on my desk to be too cumbersome so I designed amount that would allow me to easily watch a video while also looking at the fret board in my peripheral vision.

The design took 2nd place in the competition and I won an Oculus Rift.
