PRACTICAL ALCHEMY

In late 2015  I started thinking  a lot about hobbyest 3D printers.  I fiound it very strange that products like Cubify were marketing their printer to kids and for household use by providing an online catalog of files you can download.

Personally, I thought that was the wrong approach.  In my analysis, the goal should have been to focus on people who already made things and give them  confidence that they could design 'printable things if they were to buy a printer.  Similar to what Cricket does rather than exclusively selling pre-loaded design cartridges.

To address this, in my spare time I started developing a YouTube channel focused on providing CAD tutorials to cosplayers; a demographic that is strongly associated with YouTube viewership, crafting, and also embraces emergent technology.

While my schedule and career do not allow me to dedicate much time to Practical Alchemy, it was a great experiment that I may revisit in the future.
