TELIC DREAM

After I helped them to develop their flip flop, z-strap, and slide, Okabashi's private label customer, Telic, asked me to help them design a clog (aka "Dream").  Designing the Dream was challenge from a form design perspective.  Telic  was looking for a 'cool, athletic clog', (which is about as unlikely to find as a purple unicorn).  For the side and top silhouette I drew heavily from casual athletic shoes.  The surface changes are similar to the layering and top stitching used in running shoes.

Like any one piece injection molded shoe, the Dream presented multiple challenges in terms of form design.  Special considerations needed to be made to account for parting lines, mold construction, and draft angles.
